The Missoula Children's Theatre returned to Imperial to crown the 2026 summer with Beauty Lou and the Country Beast, a variation on Beauty and the Beast. CCAAC thank the students for their excellent performances and participation in the workshops as well as the hundreds of family members and friends who turned out to support the production.
We are interested in feedback about the timing of the production and more. Please share your thoughts through this five-minute survey [Google Form].
We thank Chase County Schools for hosting the play in the Auxiliary Gym.
With the acquisition of the Wellington School, CCAAC is creating a home for J. Gordon Christensen’s art collection and welcoming spaces for our community.
We are asking alumni of Chase County Schools to join us in renovating the building. The top two alumni classes contributing the most before Sept. 1 will be honored with plaques on the benches outside the arts center.

We are joining the City of Imperial, and Imperial Chamber of Commerce are working together to apply for certification as a Creative District.
Creative Districts are designatedby the Nebraska Arts Council as cultural and economic areas where innovation flourishes and neighborhoods come together in the name of art. They provide significant economic impact by creating purposeful spaces like art galleries, theaters, and music venues, attracting employees and businesses.
The goal of the Creative District Program run is to uplift communities by highlighting the value of the arts as an economic driver and a way for communities to share their unique stories. Creative Districts have been shown to build bridges between communities, promote civic engagement, improve business districts, and attract talent and investment.
