Originally founded by Dr. J. Gordon Christensen, Chase County Area Arts Council languished when he retired to Council Bluffs, Iowa. It was revived by Sara Stretesky and Kay Younger in 2017, hosting Thirsty Painter events and painting contests during the local "Smokin' On Broadway" events. Art exhibitions, school arts festivals, touring musical and theater events were added, and in May 2023, the Arts Council regained its 501c3 status. We are grateful for the support of the community as we work to create valuable arts experiences to enrich lives.
